The SEXI (Scalable, Engaging, Experience Intelligence) process is designed for modern SaaS startups with AI-powered potential that need fast, iterative, predictive and user-driven product development. Unlike traditional frameworks, SEXI is not just about designing but about scaling design while keeping it user-focused, efficient, and integrated with business goals.

SEXI Values:

Predictable timelines: Each feature follows a structured, repeatable process.

👀 User-driven innovation: Reduces guesswork with real user insights.

💰 Budget & timeline efficiency: Faster iteration, fewer redesigns.

📈 Scalable design: Ready to evolve into a full SaaS product.

Day 1: Research, Technical Constraints, & Design System Setup

Ensure we have the right inputs, tech validation, and design system in place before execution.

Time Allocation: ~5-6 hours

Tasks & Timeline:

Understanding the Data Flow (1 hour)→ Insights provided by Founder, Visionary Manager, PM, PO, or SME.→ Review analytics, user feedback, product roadmap, and user behavior.

Technical Feasibility & Limitations (1-2 hours)CTO, BA, or PM provides system constraints & tech feasibility check.→ Identify limitations on frameworks, APIs, integrations, and data flow.

Design System Setup (2-3 hours, if needed)🚨 Mandatory Step: No design work proceeds without a system.→ If a Design System exists: Align with it.→ If there is no

Design System: Choose one of the following:

  • Acquire & Customize a Pre-built Design System (1-3 days) → Fastest way to get started.

  • Develop a New Custom Design System (1-2 weeks, separate process) → Recommended for branding-heavy or unique products.

Outcome: Clear problem definition, technical validation, and design system strategy set.

Day 2: Ideation & Wireframing

Develop structured, research-backed design concepts.

Time Allocation: ~5-6 hours

Tasks & Timeline:

Brainstorming & Concept Development (1-2 hours)Stakeholders & design team align on the approach.

Low-Fidelity Wireframes (2 hours)→ Create early sketches & wireframes for core functionality.

Internal Feedback Loop (1-2 hours)→ Validate wireframes with Product, Engineering, and Business teams.

Outcome: A structured wireframe that aligns with product goals & user needs.

Day 3: High-Fidelity Design & Prototyping

Convert wireframes into polished, functional prototypes.

Time Allocation: ~5-6 hours

Tasks & Timeline:

Refining UI & UX (2-3 hours)→ Ensure consistency with the design system & brand identity.

Microinteractions & Motion (1-2 hours, if needed)→ Add animations & smooth user flow enhancements.

Internal Review & Adjustments (1 hour)→ QA check with stakeholders & developers.

Outcome: A visually & functionally complete prototype.

Day 4: User Testing & Refinements (If Applicable)

Goal: Validate design with real users before development.

Time Allocation: ~5-6 hours

Tasks & Timeline:

User Testing (3-4 hours, if included)5 user tests (20-30 min each).→ AI-assisted analysis + manual interpretation.

Iteration & Quick Fixes (2-3 hours)→ Apply critical adjustments based on user feedback.

Outcome: Validated, user-approved design ready for development.

Day 5: Handoff & Developer Support

Goal: Seamless transition to development with clear documentation.

Time Allocation: ~3-5 hours

Tasks & Timeline:

Final UI & UX Documentation (1-2 hours)→ Handoff via Figma, Notion, or Dev Mode.

Developer Sync & QA Support (1-2 hours)→ Ensure smooth execution without misinterpretations.

Outcome: Development-ready feature with minimal friction.

Why SEXI?

🔥 1. SEXI vs. Design Sprint

Why SEXI Wins:

Flexible & Ongoing: Design Sprints are great for one-time problem-solving but lack continuity. SEXI is a continuous, iterative framework that scales with product development.

Real User Validation: In a Design Sprint, testing is limited to a prototype in a 5-day timeframe. SEXI integrates user research & testing at critical points for deeper validation.

Scalable & Adaptable: Unlike a rigid 5-day sprint, SEXI adapts to different feature complexities (3-5 days per feature).

Bottom Line: SEXI keeps the speed of a Design Sprint but makes it a scalable, repeatable process that works long-term, not just for one feature.

2. SEXI vs. Lean UX

Why SEXI Wins:

Faster Execution with Structure: Lean UX is vague on timelines, making execution inconsistent. SEXI provides clear day-by-day execution guidelines (Discovery → Iteration → Testing → Handoff).

Balanced Between Research & Execution: Lean UX often skips deep research in favor of rapid iteration. SEXI prioritizes research first, so we iterate with real insights, not assumptions.

Scalable for Growing Teams: Lean UX lacks structured team roles and workflows. SEXI defines clear roles, responsibilities, and outcomes per phase to scale teams efficiently.

Bottom Line: SEXI brings the best of Lean UX but with more structure, predictability, and research-backed insights.

3. SEXI vs. Scrum (Agile UX)

Why SEXI Wins:

Design is NOT Just a Sprint Task: Scrum treats design as just another backlog item. SEXI treats design as a strategic process, aligning product, users, and business from day one.

Outcome-Focused, Not Just Task-Driven: Scrum focuses on completing tasks in sprints. SEXI focuses on validating and improving the experience before it reaches development.

Faster Iterations: Scrum requires multiple sprints to refine a design. SEXI delivers a fully validated, user-driven feature in just 3-5 days.

Bottom Line: SEXI keeps the agility of Scrum but ensures that UX is not treated as an afterthought—it’s an integral part of design-first innovative product success.

4. SEXI vs. Design Thinking

Why SEXI Wins:

More Execution, Less Overthinking: Design Thinking is great for ideation but lacks execution speed. SEXI moves from ideas to tested, high-quality design in a structured, time-bound way.

Faster Decisions: Design Thinking can be slow and workshop-heavy. SEXI uses rapid, focused research and user testing to validate decisions faster.

Optimized for SaaS & AI Products: Design Thinking is a generic framework. SEXI is specifically optimized for fast-moving tech startups & AI-driven products.

Bottom Line: SEXI takes the best principles of Design Thinking but makes it execution-driven, practical, predictable and fast.

5. SEXI vs. Double Diamond

Why SEXI Wins:

Not Just Research → Design, but Continuous Iteration: Double Diamond follows a strict Discover → Define → Develop → Deliver flow, which is too linear for modern startups. SEXI ensures continuous discovery and iteration.

Faster Delivery, Less Bureaucracy: Double Diamond can take weeks per phase. SEXI delivers production-ready UX in 3-5 days per feature while still ensuring high quality.

Scalable & Growth-Oriented: SEXI integrates business growth & UX strategy, while Double Diamond is more research-heavy and academic.

Bottom Line: SEXI is more agile, business-driven, and optimized for real-world execution, not just a structured research process.

Why Founders & Product Teams Choose SEXI Over Traditional Frameworks

  1. Optimized for SaaS, AI, and fast-moving startups

  2. User-driven, data-backed design that reduces risk

  3. Works in parallel with development, not in isolation

  4. Predictable timelines & scalable execution

  5. No overcomplicated frameworks—just fast, structured, and intelligent UX

SEXI isn’t just another UX process—it’s a growth engine for SaaS founders who want predictable, scalable, high-quality product design.
